OSF St. Joseph Medical Center is a medical clinic in Bloomington, Illinois. It is listed at 2200 E Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701, which places it among the local businesses of Bloomington that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In Bloomington, urgent care centers are busiest on weekends and evenings when doctors' offices are closed, and most post their wait times online. Across Illinois, primary care practices often have a waitlist for new patients, so establishing care before you need it saves time. For a dental emergency outside office hours, an urgent care center can prescribe antibiotics and pain relief but cannot fix the tooth; a hospital emergency room can treat swelling that affects breathing or swallowing. Bloomington is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Bloomington follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. I hate to write this review because I’ve always had great care at OSF, but this last visit was really disappointing because of my nurse, Ethel. She had to stick me multiple times trying to get my IV, even though I’ve never had issues with my veins before. She was disrespectful to me, and I overheard her being rude to other staff and housekeeping in the hallway. The other nurses, techs, and imaging staff were all great, which made the difference in her even more noticeable. Overall, it made an already stressful ER visit even worse. I really hope if I ever have to come back, I don’t end up with her as my nurse again.

My almost 81 year old mom was recently admitted at this facility. Our first day there, her surgeon came to speak with her and my brother and myself. He was incredibly rude and cocky not only to us, but also the doctor that was in her room trying to assess her and get her vitals. Saying he was the surgeon that accepted her, but there’s a chance he couldn’t actually do the surgery she needed because his schedule was full. Why would you accept her, if you weren’t 100% sure you could do her surgery? Said there was a chance that she would have to be sent out to a different hospital. Luckily, he was able to complete her surgery and his bedside manner was much better towards us when he came and spoke with my brother and myself. A separate issue she experienced, was with her night nurse. Both of her iv’s were leaking so she hit her call button and the tech on duty went and got her nurse. All she did was put extra tape on the iv cords. She also took my mom to use the restroom and I didn’t know it at the time, but my mom requested another gown to put on because hers was wet. The nurse ignored her request and put her back into bed. A few hours later, my mom woke me up and said she called for

My dad was recently transferred from our local hospital to OSF. He spent 2 weeks in the hospital and I have to rave about the care he received. He had multiple surgeries and each doctor and surgical nurses were extremely helpful with informing my dad and ourselves with each procedure. The first night he was there he had a nurse named Miles and he made the transition into the Hospital so well while helping us with all of our questions and concerns. Renee a nurse in ICU was the absolute best nurse we have ever encountered. She went above and beyond for my dad. I wish she could have followed him to every wing he was moved to but every staff member was great. Mary the palliative care nurse was also amazing with explaining things to not only our dad but us while helping transition him to a nursing home. The last wing he was on was surgical acute and I believe their names were Terry and Monica they were so kind and helpful as well. Prior to this he was at memorial hospital in Springfield for a week before they sent him home and I cannot give them a good review. For now on if we have a choice OSF will be our hospital of choice.

There is some great doctors and staff. I have recently had a bout with medical issues. Have been to the E.D twice and treated and released. Leaving with the same symptoms I went in with. One of the times I didn't like the answers I got, became worse so I went to Peoria and ended up being admitted. Jennifer Lema is a horrible doctor. If I EVER have to go back to Bloomington E.D I will call first. If she is the attending I will go somewhere else. Omar Khokar is also a horrible doctor has a very poor bedside manner and refused to give service aftet I was already told by another G.I doctor that they would take care of me. I will say the Cardiology Department is spectacular. There is also a gentleman that works in the E.D his name is Mehir if I remember correctly, he is an amazing person and will make an absolute phenomenal doctor one day. I would give a better rating but two bad apples ruined it. Just stay clear of the two doctors mentioned above.

Came in via ambulance for trouble breathing. Doctor was great. Nurse however was terrible. Didn’t give any introduction, inform me of what was going on, and overall provided very poor care. She came in when I was actively coughing and struggling to breathe, and listened to my lungs and said β€œI was fine” and left. She also came in and disconnected my oxygen, even though there was no reason I couldn’t have it. My alarm was also going off for over 2 minutes and I had to press my call button in order for anyone to come in to see me. I was there last night and service was fine so I guess I just depends on who you get. I have RSV and am severely asthmatic, and with this being my second night in the ED, I’m surprised they didn’t admit me. Overall, poor service by the nurse but the doctors were fine.
